Knifemaking has become an important and valuable part of my life. I find it rewarding and enjoyable when transforming a raw piece of steel into a useful tool.
I have always been interested in knives and knife collecting but I am new to knife making. Many of my skills were developed from joining a local Knife Club in Atlanta - The Flint River Knife Club. Once a month, knifemakers all over the Atlanta area meet to share knifemaking ideas and techniques. Once a quarter, a 'hammer in' is scheduled where skills are shared by giving a live demo on making knives or blades.
Periodically, I will show my knives in various shows throughout Georgia. You can contact me for show times and dates.
Material:
Most of my knives are made from ATS34 Stainless Steel. This durable material is surprisingly flexible, and yet holds a good edge. I also have available blades of Damascus steel. I have also begun making my own Demascus from chainsaw chain. motorcycle chain and aircraft cable.
The majority of my knife handles are made from stabilized wood. The stabilization of wood reduces the chance of expansion, shrinkage and moisture absorption. In addition to stabilized wood, I also use Linen and Canvas Micarta, Ram and Buffalo Horn and Dymondwood.
I welcome custom orders and enjoy making knives that reflect the individuality of the customer. Contact me and we will discuss the details. Please allow 90 days for delivery.
Sheaths:
Most of my sheaths are 9oz. cow or horse leather inlayed with either Timberback or Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnake. All sheaths are hand-stitched and custom made for each knife in various shades of brown or black. Leather tooling is also available.
Note: My supply of Rattlesnake is acquired from unintentional deaths.
